Courses for Women

Develop the skills and confidence to access further education and training, communicate with others, gain vocational competencies and prepare to return to work. Courses are available in: Access to Work and Training; Career Education and Employment for Women; Skills for Work and Training; and Work Opportunities for Women.

 

Education Support

Develop the skills required to provide assistance and support to teachers to facilitate students’ learning under broad based supervision. This course is for people who work or want to work in a range of education settings including public and independent schools and community education settings. A course is available in Education Support.

 

Employment, Education and Training

Develop skills to maintain or advance employment opportunities, and/or gain Year 11 Skills to enrol in a higher qualification. Courses are available in: Employment, Education and Training.

 

English Language

Develop English language skills for further study, employment or to prepare for the International English Language Testing Scheme (IELTS) exam. Courses are available in: English for Academic Purposes; English for Further Study; English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL); English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) (Access); Intermediate English Language Studies; Post Beginner English Language; and Tutoring Adult Foundation Skills. Courses are also available for Temporary Visa Holders and new migrants including AMEP eligible students.

 

Higher School Certificate – Industry Training College / Tertiary Preparation Courses

Complete a NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC), with an Australian Tertiary Adminission Rank (ATAR), which is geared towards a vocational study pathway where you benefit from‘hands on’ training at the Industry Training College - Illawarra @ TAFE Wollongong or the Industry Training College @ Queanbeyan South East. Alternatively if you successfully complete the Tertiary Preparation Certificate, you will be eligible to receive the scaled Tertiary Entrance Score (TES). You can also acquire the skills and subject content required to enter tertiary education as a mature aged student and/or gain employment where a Year 12 equivalent qualification is required. Courses are available in: Higher School Certificate (HSC) Studies; Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) Preparation; or Tertiary Preparation.

 

Language, Literacy and Numeracy

Improve your reading, writing and mathematics for your job, further study, or personal reasons. You can gain computer literacy skills depending on the electives selected. Courses are available in Language, Literacy and Numeracy.

 

Languages

Develop language skills for use in the workplace and in social settings. Courses are offered in Australian Sign Language (Auslan); and Aboriginal Language/s. Skills for Work and Training and/or Preparation for Work and Study Develop skills to access and maintain employment or prepare for further education and training. You can gain computer literacy skills depending on the electives selected. Courses are available in Access to Work and Training; Preparation for Work and Study; and Skills for Work and Training.
