General Environmental Awareness Training

This program will teach your employees the fundamentals of an Environmental Management System (EMS). They will learn what it is and how it works. This training can form part of your employee induction program.

The Standard requires all employees to be trained for general awareness, even if they do not have any direct responsibilities under the EMS Programs.

This training also gives you the opportunity to gain an optional Statement of Attainment for BSBUS201A (MCMT272A) if assessed and proven competent.

Electricity and Water Efficiency

This program is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to effectively manage facilities in a more energy efficient and conscious way with a focus on electricity, water and waste.

By the end of the training you can undertake an accurate assessment of energy usage and specific ways you can achieve energy and dollar savings.

Who for?         Workplace Supervisors and Facilities Operators

Duration:        2 days and 1 day practical presentation

 

Environmental Auditing based on the ISO 14000 Series

This training is targeted at your OHS&E and/or Environmental Officers and Workplace Supervisors. It is designed to help you take the necessary first step in ascertaining where you are at and where you need to go.

You will learn how to carry out qualitative and quantitative environmental assessment and create a resultant chart that will identify priorities and create programs to overcome the identified risks. This can assist in allocating resources over time to improve the environmental performance in a targeted controlled manner.

This training also gives you the opportunity to gain an optional Statement of Attainment for BSBUS201A, 301A and 501A (MCMT272A, 472A and 672A) depending on the level of involvement.

Who for?         OHS&E, Environmental Officers and/or Workplace Supervisors

Duration:        3 days

 

Environmental Management System (EMS) Implementation ISO 14001

This program is designed for environmental officers or management that will be directly in the implementation and monitoring of the EMS. It is carried out on a mentoring basis.

Most of the documentation required by the Standard will be created during the mentoring process and can be used if full accreditation is required in future.

This training also gives you the opportunity to gain an optional Statement of Attainment for BSBUS301A and 501A (MCMT472A and 672A) depending on the level of involvement

Duration:        5 days plus 2 days follow up

 

Carbon Accounting – The essentials

This program gives you the tools to identify and qualify your carbon footprint. It is a great way to identify areas you can improve on, and can become part of any required government auditing and reporting.

During this program you will learn:

  • the scientific and industrial background to carbon accounting
  • about international best practices, methodologies and standards
  • to identify, catagorise and calculate greenhouse gas (GHGH) emissions
  • to prepare and interpret a carbon/GHG inventory

Agriculture (Organic)

This program is perfect if you are interested in developing skills and knowledge for sustainable agriculture.

In this program, you will develop skills and knowledge in:

  • supervising and managing organic production programs
  • producing marketable goods to meet customer specifications
  • applying quality assurance practices to industry standards
  • maintaining the sustainability of the enterprise according to National Organic Standards.

Environmental Monitoring and Technology

As part of this program you will acquire scientific technical skills used in waste management, pollutions monitoring and control and other environmental applications

Farm Planning for Sustainability

As part of this program you will learn the process of developing a whole farm plan for a rural enterprise. You will also enhance your skills in sustainable land management practices, property planning processes and approaches, land capability, conservation management strategies, legal requirements, SWOT analysis and risk management.
