Applying & Enrolling
STEP 1: Make sure you meet the course entry requirements.
To do a course you must meet the entry requirements of that course, or be accepted on the basis of a special admission.
STEP 2: Contact your preferred campus or campuses OR call Course Information on 131 601.
Check that the campus still proposes to run the course. Ask about different modes of attendance, and decide which suits you best. Enquire about any special pre-enrolments procedures - to be considered for some courses you may have to attend an information session or interview, sit for a test or submit a portfolio. Check if the course is a "TAFE Application Required". If it does not require an application go to Step 4.
Step 3: Apply, if necessary.
STEP 4: Enrol.
To enrole at most campuses, you will just need to turn up during enrolment time, fill out an enrolment form and pay the TAFE NSW fee. Check if the course you want to do has an information/testing session or specific enrolment details. For general enrolment dates and times go to the Student Calender.
Enrolment By Proxy
`Enrolment By Proxy' is when a student, who is unable to attend enrolment personally, nominates another person [proxy] to attend enrolment and act on the student's behalf. This method of enrolling should only be undertaken in exceptional circumstances which prevent the student from enrolling personally.
The nominated proxy must bring with them a completed and signed Enrolment By Proxy - Proxy Nomination form to enrolment. This form can be obtained at the Administration Office of any of the Illawarra Institute's campuses.
