Applying & Enrolling
Applying and Enrolling are two distinct processes. For most courses you don't need to apply, you just need to enrol. Simply follow the step by step guide below:
STEP 1: Make sure you meet the course entry requirements.
To do a course you must meet the entry requirements of that course, or be accepted on the basis of a special admission.
STEP 2: Contact your local Campus, phone 131 601 or go to www.illawarra.tafensw.edu.au for the most up to date details.
Check that the campus still proposes to run the course. Ask about different modes of attendance, and decide which suits you best.
Enquire about any special pre-enrolments procedures - to be considered for some courses you may have to attend an information session or interview, sit for a test or submit a portfolio. If it does not state `TAFE Application Required', then go to Step 4.
STEP 3: Apply, if necessary.
For some courses, you must apply before you can enrol. For these courses you need to complete a TAFE NSW Course Application Form. Deliver or mail your completed application to the campus of your first preference. Semester One, 2010 course applications close on Friday, 30 October 2009. If the application closing date has already passed you can still apply and your application will be stamped as a `late application'. Please note: applications received by the closing date will be given first preference. If your application is successful, you will receive details of when and how to enrol. STEP 4: Enrol.
To enrol at most campuses, you will just need to turn up during enrolment time, fill out an enrolment form and pay the TAFE NSW fee. Check if the course you want to do has an information/testing session or specific enrolment details. For general enrolment dates and times go to the Student Calender.
