NEW DATABASES

Oxford and Grove Art Online ~ TV News ~ Vocational Studies Premier

TAFE Library Services are providing access to some new databases for the next 12 months. Your feedback on the usefulness of these databases is very welcome. To try these new databases go to the new look eResources page on our website.

  • Vocational Studies Premier - This database has a primary focus on associate degree, diploma and certificate level programs. Subject areas include accounting, agricultural sciences, child care services, cosmetology, culinary arts, forestry, food service management, graphic arts, hair dressing, hospitality management, interior design, journalism, plumbing, heating & air conditioning, veterinary technology and welding to name a few. The database is updated weekly. (An EBSCOHost database). Access: Contact your library for the password.
  • Oxford and Grove Art Online - This database offers users the ability to access and search the vast content of Grove Art Online and Oxford Art Reference in one location. Users can choose to view biographies, subject entries, or images when searching or browsing. There are more than 23,000 subject entries, 21,000 biographies, 40,000 image links and 5,000 images contained within Grove Art Online. Access: Use your DET Portal username/password
  • TV News - This product has been on trial for some months and there has been some very positive feedback so far. TV News provides access to Australian television news, current affairs and selected documentaries from the free-to-air networks with links to the digitised video content. All individual stories from a particular broadcast are searchable with a detailed summary. TVNews is updated daily. (An Informit database) Access: Contact your library for the password.
  • Request TV - Request TV is a database of all free-to-air television programs from which DVD copies of programs can be purchased. If you need a copy of a television program that is not already available in your library or on TV News, please contact your Campus Librarian who will search the database and submit your order.
