Who can borrow?- All new and continuing TAFE NSW students can borrow using their TAFEcard. Please read the library conditions of use.
- All current TAFE NSW staff can borrow using their TAFEcard or local TAFE library card. Proof of staff status is required. Please read the library conditions of use.
- Members of the public can join the library as Community borrowers (conditions and fees apply).
- Students and staff of the University of Wollongong can join their local TAFE library as Reciprocal borrowers (conditions and fees apply).
Note: Fees do not apply to UOW borrowers at Moss Vale.
Renewals- You may renew an item up to 2 times on or before the due date as long as no one has reserved the item.
- Renewals can be made in person, or by contacting your library by email or phone.
- You can also renew items online, using the library catalogue. Click on your library's name on the library catalogue page, and click on the My Account tab. You will need your TAFEcard barcode number and a password (PIN) - please ask at the library.
Returning items- Items should be returned to the library you borrowed them from, as there is no free courier service between libraries.
- Items must be returned (or renewed) on or before the due date, otherwise penalties and fines may apply.
- You must replace or pay for any items you lose or damage. Please read the library conditions of use.
- Return chutes are generally located both inside and outside the library so that items may be returned at any time the campus is open.
Inter Library Loans - Your local campus library can obtain items for you from other TAFE NSW libraries. This interlibrary loan service is available only to TAFE NSW staff and students and is free of charge. Please contact your library for more information or complete the request form. Conditions apply.
| | What you can borrow - TAFE NSW Students can borrow up to 15 items at any one time, although individual libraries may place limits on particular formats, such as DVDs and CDs.
- TAFE NSW Staff are not limited in the number of items they can borrow.
- Most books and magazines are checked out to students for 2 weeks and to staff for 4 weeks, while most DVDs, videos and CDs are checked out for 1 to 2 weeks. Items on Closed Reserve have more limited loan periods.
- You can view your loans and library account online using the library catalogue. Click on your library's name on the library catalogue page, and click on the My Account tab. You will need your TAFEcard barcode number and a password (PIN) - please ask at the library.
Reserving items- If any item you want is out on loan, you can place a hold to reserve it - in person, or by contacting your library by email or phone. You will be contacted when the item is available for you to collect. This is a free service.
- You can also check online for the status of any reserves you have placed. Click on your library's name on the library catalogue page, and click on the My Account tab. You will need your TAFEcard barcode number and a password (PIN) - please ask at the library.
Penalties and fines- Borrowing privileges are suspended until all overdue loans are returned.
- For students, a penalty of $10 per item applies to items overdue by more than 23 days. Please read the library conditions of use and the Student Discipline (Library Resource Materials) Policy.
- You will not receive your TAFE results or testamur (e.g. certificate or diploma) if you have not returned all items and paid all outstanding library fines.
