Enrolment Adjustment - Recognition - Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) {Form 102, yellow}

  • Recognition is granted if you provide documentary evidence of work experience and/or life experience and/or previous learning which shows that you possess the skills and knowledge contained in the module/unit outcomes.
  • Collect relevant evidence about your work/life experience and previous learning.
  • For claims based on previous learning, e.g. studies completed at TAFE, overseas, university, school or other providers, attach certified copies of all documentation supporting the claim.
  • For claims based on life experience and work experience provide evidence describing how your skills and knowledge have been acquired and maintained. Attach supporting documentation, for example job descriptions, references, statements from employers (on employer letterhead) and/or verified examples, samples or photographs of work completed.
  • It is expected that the outcomes for your claim will be known within three (3) weeks.
  • If successful, your TAFE NSW Transcript of Academic Record will indicate that the module has been achieved BY ADVANCED STANDING.


Enrolment Adjustment - Recognition - Pre-arranged RPL/National Recognition {Form 105, orange}

  • You may be granted recognition in one or more modules if you have previously successfully completed equivalent studies with another training provider. Your Head Teacher/Teacher will provide you with details of the specified studies with other training providers for which you may claim recognition in your current enrolment.
  • You may gain recognition for units of competency in your current TAFE NSW course if you have successfully completed the identical unit of competency with another Australian Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Your Head Teacher/Teacher will provide you with the details of the module(s) in your course that match the units of competency you have already completed, and the TAFE NSW modules for which you will be granted recognition. This is called National Recognition.
  • A certified copy of the original transcript of the results of your previous studies must be attached to your form. Your Head Teacher/Teacher will certify the copy for you.
  • Your TAFE NSW Transcript of Academic Record will indicate that the module has been achieved BY ADVANCED STANDING.


Enrolment Adjustment - Recognition - TAFE NSW Credit Transfer {Form 103, green}

  • You may be granted Recognition in one or more modules if you have previously successfully studied the same or similar modules in TAFE NSW.
  • Recognition will only be granted after your claim has been verified against your previous results held by TAFE NSW.
  • If you have successfully completed exactly the same module, or a module similar in content and outcome to a module in your current course, your result may be transferred.
  • There may be some modules where it is not possible to transfer your results for the recognition. Instead your Result Notice will indicate that the module has been achieved BY ADVANCED STANDING.
  • Your Head Teacher/Teacher can advise you of the modules in which your results will transfer.
