Wollongong is a vibrant, multicultural city that is the population centre of the very affordable Illawarra region. It is a very friendly city made up of nationalities from around the world - an exciting mix of people. The Wollongong region is truly spectacular, with breathtaking views. Within minutes of the city there are clear water bays and harbours, golden sand beaches and mountain rainforests. Walk fifteen minutes from the city centre to the blue Pacific Ocean with its dolphins and whales all year round. The gateway to and from Sydney is a drive through the mountain rainforests or along the beautiful coast road and sea bridge, you can also travel by the coastal fast electric rail link.
To the south of Wollongong there are coastal and mountain towns and resorts of unbelievable beauty. Close by, up in the mountain highlands are the winter snow fields waiting for you to come and enjoy a winter term break.

TAFE NSW - Illawarra Institute consists of fourteen campuses. Our largest campus is located at North Wollongong, just south of Sydney and linked by a fast one hour train service.
