You can still access library resources and services!
As an off campus student you can still access all the resources and facilities that TAFE NSW libraries have to offer. If you are unable to visit one of our libraries in person, you can ask for items to be posted to you. You can also submit a request for information or resources to your nearest TAFE campus library by email, phone, mail or in person.
Borrowing
Your TAFEcard is your library card. You can obtain one from your local Customer Service Centre during normal business hours or contact your local campus library for other options.
You can borrow up to 15 items. Borrowing conditions may vary between individual libraries. Postal services are available on request, with return postage your responsibility.
Inter-library loans
Want to borrow a library resource from another TAFE NSW library? Search the collections of over 100 TAFE NSW campus libraries.
You can request an inter library loan, provided the resource is relevant to your TAFE studies. The request should be placed through your local Illawarra Institute campus library, not to the TAFE NSW library which holds the item.

Looking for information on a specific topic? Check out our online subject guides which are tailor-made resources aimed at helping you to find relevant and useful information and resources. Organised into relevant subject areas, you can access these subject guides at any time.
What will I find in the subject guides?
In the subject guides, you will find:
• resources for loan including books, DVDs, journals
• library catalogue searches for your topics
• online databases with full-text journal articles and video clips
• selected, high quality websites
• research tips and referencing guides.
Online databases (eResources)
Online databases give you access to the latest information on a variety of subjects. You will find full-text journals, newspapers, statistics, standards, eBooks, encyclopedias and other reference resources, and all from the convenience of your own computer.
You will need your DEC TAFE username and password for most databases. Contact your local campus library for more information.
